Paddle Stats:

Blade Length: 19”

Blade Width: 7.5”

Approximate Weight: 24 oz.

One of our bestsellers, the Minnesota canoe paddle offers tremendous versatility with unmatched style. The large blade creates great acceleration in the water, and the tip narrows a bit to create smoother entry and a quieter paddling experience. The Minnesota is also extremely durable; the all-hardwood construction is strong and snappy, and the blade is fully reinforced with fiberglass as well as finished off with an intricate epoxy rock guard. It is the perfect backcountry paddle.

The Minnesota is available in both a straight shaft and bent shaft option. Straight shafts are typically preferred for stern paddlers (the rear of the canoe) for more subtle steering strokes, whereas the 12° bent shaft option will typically be preferred by bow paddlers (the front of the canoe) who are looking to maximize forward propulsion.

Both options feature unvarnished grips. An oiled grip feels warmer and smoother in the hands and is less prone to cause blistering. On the bent shaft paddles is an asymmetrical palm grip; its forward lean helps ensure a secure grip while the soft curves still allow for comfortable rotation in the hand, easing the rotation needed for corrective strokes in the water. The straight shaft grip is symmetrical, and the soft curves make rotation for corrective and steering strokes effortless.

    Canoe paddle

Absolutely love the craftsmanship in my new Minnesota paddle. It was hand built to my measurements. They stated it would take 6-8 weeks for delivery and that was exactly how long it took. The colors of the wood selected and the fantastic designs were what sold me on this paddle and I hoped it would be built strong enough to really use as a wilderness paddle and not just a looker to use a time or two and then hang up. The shaft is strong and nicely ovaled with a not too thin diameter for getting a good grip. The handles come un-oiled which is perfect. The blades are not too thin and are glass covered for strength and durability. Blade size is great...not too big to wear you out during an all day paddle but large enough to get a great purchase in the water. I'm 110% satisfied with this paddle.
