The Hudson Bay axe design has its origins in Northern Spain and France. It was especially popular among French traders as they explored the New World. With this hatchet, we have taken a tried and true design and added a few unique "Sanborn" touches. The head is made in the USA- a Council Tool Velvicut 1.25#5160 grade alloy steel axe head with an custom hand-shaped American Hickory handle. Our Hudson Bay Camp Axe is as rugged as it is fetching.
