The straight shaft features 7 hardwood laminates for excellent strength and spring in the water, but the real star of the show here is the highly unique, figured Walnut used in the blade. 

Better yet, these paddles aren't just for show. The blade is reinforced both with fiberglass on both faces as well as a hard epoxy rock guard for handling whatver the water throws your way.
